There is a great need for teachers and parents who can guide students towards experiencing Mindfulness and to establish the practices themselves.
The growing interest in Mindfulness is gaining momentum as evidence-based results clearly point to the on-going benefits when practiced regularly.  More requests are being made to put mindfulness programmes in place in New Zealand schools to help students (and teachers)  deal with the increasing stress and pressure in the school environment.

Mindfulness Education is running a half day Introductory Training Workshop for teachers and parents who wants to learn how establish an ongoing Mindfulness practise for themselves, their students and children.

The Workshop Covers:

Studies shows how ongoing practise of Mindfulness for students can improve calmness and focus in the classroom. Rita will give examples from her own experience of running Mindfulness programmes in Auckland Schools.

Part two consist of practical exercises and training in delivering Mindfulness lessons to students and children inclusive how to establish your own mindfulness practise.

In this half day intensive workshop you will also familiarise yourself with the simple but powerful Mindfulness techniques that are helping individuals from all walks of life to have a direct experience of the ‘mindful state’ and learning how to ‘be in the present moment’.

“One of the primary ironies of modern education is that we ask students to “Pay attention” dozens of times a day, yet we never teach them how. The practice of mindfulness teaches students how to pay attention, and this enhances both academic and social emotional learning” (Saltzman, 2011)Quotes from Educators
